Desira has learned from her disability that there are a lot of people who are really blinded by that she’s a person first and her disability doesn’t make her, she makes it. She’s learned that everyday’s a teaching process for those who don’t understand and it’s up to her to lead the way. Desira has been able to move past her circumstances by finding comfort in being around positive people that truly understand and that life waits on no one.
Desira’s most proud that she lives on her, has a high school diploma and some college. She has played sports in the past and is looking to get back into it soon. Desira has a dream to adopt one day. She wants to learn more about advocating for herself. She volunteers wherever she can to make a difference. Desire wants to be her own boss one day.
